Mississauga Hospital – Site Updates
To prepare us for a future where we have the capacity to shape a healthier tomorrow and to support construction of The Peter Gilgan Mississauga Hospital and Shah Family Hospital for Women and Children, work is underway at Mississauga Hospital.
Patients, families and our teams remain our top priority as we continue to provide high-quality care while fostering a positive patient, family and provided experience throughout construction.
This page shares timely updates and milestones related to construction activities.
Construction from November 2025 – January 2026
Beginning November 14 until January 2026, access at Mississauga Hospital will temporarily change due to construction:
- November 14-21, 2025: Main Entrance closed – no pedestrian or vehicle access. Use the Lower Entrance, open 24/7 with two-way traffic
- November 22 – January 2026: Main Entrance open to pedestrians but closed to vehicles. Pedestrians can use the Lower Entrance or Main Entrance, open 24/7, but vehicles are to use the Lower Entrance
During this time, the Lower Pick-Up/Drop-Off Area will reopen with two-way traffic and 24/7 access to the Lower Entrance.
A new pull-off zone has been created at the Lower Entrance to support the added volume and traffic flow. Please use extra caution, as space will be tight and traffic will flow in both directions.
Across the hospital site, continue to drive slowly, follow the posted speed limit, and remain alert during this period of active construction.
Map - Construction at Mississauga Hospital
The following map represents construction from November 2025 – January 2026 and the impacts to pedestrian and vehicle access, as noted above.

Truck Waiting Area on Queensway West
The south shoulder of Queensway West is being extended to create a Truck Waiting Area. This provides a safe dedicated lane for construction vehicles to wait before entering the hospital site, not taking up any existing lanes on Queensway West while maintaining clear access for hospital and community traffic. All trucks are required to turn off their engines while waiting. The following map outlines the primary and secondary routes that trucks will use when travelling to and from the hospital’s construction site. Routes are on major arterial roads with direct highway access, avoiding neighbourhood roads at all times.
Parking at Mississauga Hospital
Mississauga Hospital’s 8-storey parking garage, which opened in November 2024, is located on Bronte College Court, and can be accessed from the hospital’s Bronte College Court, Queensway West, or Confederation Pkwy entrances. Due to construction and location of the garage, driving to the hospital will look different than before. Allow extra time to find a parking space.
Queensway Health Centre – Construction Updates
To help prepare us for a future where we have the capacity to shape a healthier tomorrow, preconstruction activities have been underway since the summer of 2021 to support the expansion at the future home of The Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre.
Patients, families and all those who work at THP will always be our top priority and we are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality of care while ensuring a positive patient, family and provider experience throughout these construction activities.
To help provide timely, relevant and helpful information throughout these activities, this page will act as a database for all communications related to construction activities and milestones. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact ask@thp.ca
